Communities Come First

At YMCA Victoria, communities come first. As a community not-for-profit with a rich

history our vision is clear:

With the Y, everyone can be healthier, happier and connected to their community;

and help those who are not.

Casey Cares is the inititative YMCA Victoria through ONE Casey uses to support

and assist those in our local community.

Casey Cares helps your local community by providing:

  • Short term support through tough times
  • Help to those who need assistance to live a healthy life
  • Free or subsidised access to YMCA managed, City of Casey facilities.
  • Programs and community events to help people become better connected to
  • what is happening in their community.
  • Information and education to understand how to live healthier and happier lives.
  • Access to programs delivered in partnership with local organisations

Community Impact Story

TIM OPARA

Tim was referred to us after suffering

significant physical injuries that left him

unable to lift anything.

Since accessing YMCA Victoria financial assistance and making the most of everything our centres have to offer, Tim has regained the use of his hand and much of his strength. Without this assistance, Tim could not have afforded this type of rehabilitation, which would have had a devastating impact on his long-term mental and physical health.

How do we support Casey Cares financially?

A crucial part of how the Casey Cares program operates is via fundraising efforts throughout the local community. YMCA fundraising occurs across the ONE Casey facilities throughout the year, with many different events and initiatives running alongside everyday business.

Events and initiatives are held across the City of Casey that aim to raise funds for Casey Cares.

Some of these include:

  • Highway intersection collection
  • Casey Cares Trivia Night
  • Sausage sizzles
  • Community Market nights
  • Second hand book sales
  • In-Centre fundraising
  • Donations from the public

The money raised through these events goes towards helping those in need gain access to the many programs within our centres. Success of these events and fundraising is through commitment & dedication by ONE Casey staff.
